Tuesday 2/17 Link Stache – The Bacon Lombardi Trophy

Posted on 17 February 2010 by Patrick Gordon

You can try to tell me that this Bacon Lombardi trophy isn’t awesome, but you’d be wrong. This is pretty much the greatest thing ever. It’s like the real Lombardi Trophy, except it takes a lot less blood, sweat and tears, and it tastes way better. Thanks to Intentional Foul for bringing this piece of amazingness to our attention.

Other goodness:

Mandatory viewing: “I’m From The Old School” featuring Mike Singletary [Sports Untapped]

Darrell Green is still faster than you, running a 4.43 forty, at age 50. [Fanhouse]

Drew Brees will now have the bullseye on his back, after winning the Super Bowl. [Shutdown Corner]

Link Stache: Super Bowl XLIV

Posted on 08 February 2010 by Patrick Gordon

Super Bowl XLIV was a legendary game. If you’re like myself, it was even better, because the Saints were an infinitely more enjoyable team than the Colts this year, It’s great to see Drew Brees get a ring, and while I think the Katrina angle is a bit overhyped, it’s good to see something like this happen for New Orleans.

Naturally, after the game the reactions abound. Here are a few of the interesting ones, for your enjoyment. And if you want more PeytonFaces like this one, hit me on Twitter.

The Colts should have gone for 16-0… [Me, at FanIQ]

…because the ultimate reason for their loss was their lack of aggression. [Gregg Rosenthal, NBC]

Despite the bounty he placed on Peyton’s head before the game, Gregg Williams really respects him… [The Tennessean]

…even though Manning committed the unforgivable crime of not shaking anyone’s hand after the game. OMG, WHAT A POOR SPORT!!! [FOX]

That Tim Tebow ad we heard so much about? Totally not that big of a deal. [The Big Lead]

Drew Brees and Tracy Porter, the two heroes of the game, gave it a nice Big Ten flavor. [Midwest Sports Fans]

Porter’s success was undoubtedly thanks to his hair. Epic greatness. [Larry Brown Sports]

Here are the 7 best commercials of Super Bowl XLIV [Detroit4Lyfe]

The Saints are the HOF QB killers. Warner? Check. Favre? Check. Peyton? Check. [PFT]

Speaking of legendary QB’s, Peyton choked away a great chance to cement his legacy. [Fanhouse]
